Our model is based on the concept that environment is The Third Teacher.

Instead of a classroom we offer a range of teaching and learning environments, spaces which serve as
tools for particular tasks and designed to support the particular mode of learning:

  • Group teaching spaces
  • Technology enabled self-learning space
  • Customized learning spaces
  • Peer-to-peer social learning spaces
  • Learning clusters
  • Individual learning spaces

To make our learning space student-centered we have taken into account children’s needs and values for a school:

  • To be a home away from home
  • To connect children to their families
  • To help children to be powerful and active
  • To provide softness, comfort and flexibility (i.e. to avoid boredom)
  • To create connections and a sense of belonging
  • To engage the senses and invite physical play
  • To provoke curiosity and intellectual engagement
The capacity of our school model is designed according to the “human scale” number of 150 people, based on the concept that this is the maximum number of people one can form meaningful relationships with.

We have created a flexible environment which is responsive to the need for children and teachers to construct knowledge together.

Our school without classrooms allows the environment to teach, to inspire and to shape the identity of the people who operate in it in a constructive and positive direction.

Our interior design is based on the minimalist principle “less is more” by providing an environment of simplicity and basic shapes.

The minimalist model has a bearing on the sustainability of the project: apart from the comfortable and cost-effective facilities to operate and maintain, simplicity affects the learner’s understanding of sustainability as part of their wider citizenship learning.
